terms of service

these draft terms describe the current maeven verification service. the operator and contact details still need to be completed and the terms reviewed before public launch.

using maeven

maeven provides discord server verification and experimental security checks. by using the service, you must follow discord's applicable terms and use a discord account you are authorized to access. verification links are private, expire after 15 minutes and are for the account that requested them. do not share a link or attempt to use another person's account.

verification and security decisions

maeven can use browser, device and network signals and account information across participating servers to identify possible alternate accounts and suspicious connections. similar signals do not prove that accounts belong to the same person, and security checks can be incomplete or inaccurate. a server administrator chooses its settings and may block verification or, where enabled, ban suspected ban evasion. ask that server's administrators to review a decision or manually verify you.

server administrators

administrators are responsible for their server settings, permissions and moderation decisions, and for considering the effect of automatic actions. make sure the bot has only the permissions needed and that your use of maeven follows applicable law and discord's rules. server administrators can change their settings or remove the bot, subject to the retention described in the privacy policy.

acceptable use

do not interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, misuse verification data, impersonate others, or use maeven to harass or discriminate against people. do not submit fabricated signals or automate requests to disrupt the service or evade safeguards.

availability and changes

maeven is a prototype and may be changed, interrupted or unavailable. discord, cloudflare and network data providers can affect its operation. the service is provided as available and no accuracy or uninterrupted availability is promised, subject to rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law. these terms may be updated as the service changes.

privacy and contact

the privacy policy explains the information used, retention and available data requests. the operator has not yet provided contact details. governing law and any additional required terms have not yet been determined.
